CHAIR YOGA – Dance/Mobility Meditation in San Marcos, CA

(2:45 - 3:30 PM) Tuesday and Thursday

Chair dance meditation is a creative and joyful form of movement designed for those who cannot practice other forms of physical movement due to the effects of aging, illness, disabilities, post-surgery condition, or for any other reason.

While seated on the chair you will explore your movement possibilities. In this position, you will be protecting your knees, hips, spine and other parts of your body. You will be gaining strength and flexibility in a fun way. Very gentle, slow and soft movements will be alternated with high-intensity movements. You can come in any physical condition because you are the one who will decide how far you can and want to go.

You will enrich your movement vocabulary through different tools, like imagination, music, and qualities of the movement. You will enter a meditative state mostly with your eyes closed. This active meditation is designed to heal physical and emotional pains you might have gathered over the years.

The chair will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing that does not restrain the blood flow. Wear comfortable socks or sports shoes (if you choose standing over sitting at some point). Make sure you are hydrated before and after the class.
